Hi,

If by face appearance you mean what the face looks like when you render it then yes.

Fusion defaults all components as being made out of Steel and the appearance is that of steel in default views. There

are two ways you can change the default appearance. You can change the material type or you can leave the material

type alone and change the appearance. This is done in a similar way.

When you change the physical material you just drag the material from the menu onto the component or body you

are dealing with. This drags property information with it.

The Appearance is similar but you can drag the appearance to a component/body or just a face. This only affects

the appearance, not the physical properties.

These will return results like this:

There are two other basic ways to change the appearance of bodies. One is to turn on component colours like this:

One final basic way you can change an appearance is to drape a decal over the component.

Without a model from you or more information about what you want, that is about it.

Cheers

Those defaults can be changed in the materials section of the preferences.

Yes. When in the Appearance panel, you can choose Bodies/Components, or Faces.
That does not work for the procedural solid wood appearances:

If that is not what you're asking for, please be more specific 😉

Just to clarify the question:  When you say "face appearance", are you referring to applying an appearance to one or mode selected faces in the Appearance command?

Second, when you say "configure", do you mean using Fusion Configurations to specify, say, a different color for a set of faces for each configuration?

If so, I suspect the answer is currently "no", but I will defer to @karina.harper , who is likely more up to date on Configurations than I am.

Ooops! I completely missed that part of the question!
I think you are correct that this can currently not be configured at face level, but not at (browser) object level. Here's a link to the Fusion help.

Hi,

Do I understand correctly that, according to this information, the function for faces is planned and not yet finally realized?

Same issue here. When you use appearance in configuration tables, it applies the appearance to the whole body, while when you manually change the appearance, you can select it to be applied to the whole body or only the selected face.

Really hope this will be fixed. So theming of appearances will be possible.

I'll add support for this feature request - add ability to configure face appearance in addition to body appearance. In the meantime make it clear on the help page that it is not currently supported...I thought it was and wasted a bit of time trying to figure it out.

I probably have 50 layers of appearance on this part I'm working on from fiddling with it, but I actually got it to do what I want. I configured the body appearance to red or green, and then applied face appearances to the parts I don't want to change. Basically backwards of what I was originally trying to do

Configuration 1:

Configuration 2:

The green version is longer so I wanted the visual identifier so I can easily see which one is active in my model while designing all the stuff around it.
