configurations with part numbers

Is there a way to have different part number sketches for each different configuration? I can shut off the sketch 

for the part number between the different parts but no way to have the updated part number populate with the model.

make any sense? I can do this in the configuration manager in solidworks but don't know how to do it in fusion.

We can configure part number (and description) for internal components for each configuration.  You need to click on the "Configure" command in the context menu of an internal component, select the "Properties" checkbox and change the required details in the Properties tab in the Configuration dialog.

I am not quite sure what you mean by part number sketches.  Could you please clarify.

We have to engrave the part number of each detail on the part. I would like the part number that is cut into the part to 

update to the new part number when that configuration is activated.

I got it so it installed and I can change size for each configuration but how do I change the actual wording of each sketch?

perhaps one way to do this is to configure an internal component which contains a sketch with text.  Configure the Part Name of that internal component and provide part number you desire.  Then use this script to change the sketch text to the part number of the component (using _.partnum property).  That way when you activate a different configuration, it will generate the text based on the part number of that configuration.
