I have a few questions about settings on my computer for running Fusion 360.  First I'm a new user to the world of CAD/CAM.  I have followed a few videos about importing SVG.  My computer seemed to be slow when it imports or when I edit an SVG file, and I mean slow.  My computer spec's are such: Win7pro-svc pk1, 1.8ghz processer, 4g ram, 64 bit os.  Is this computer too slow by itself?

Hi,

Some things you may want to check:

  • Ensure you're video card driver is current as this can affect graphics performance. Go to the manufacturer's website as Microsoft doesn't always have the most current drivers.
  • For network performance go to www.speedtest.net to see what you connection speeds are.

Generically speaking Fusion 360 does benefit from higher processor speeds as well as video card memory/performance. However the network connection is just as important for many underlying operations.
