Component Tree Drop Down Missing in 2D Drawing

Quite regularly, when I create a 2D drawing from my 3D model, the component tree drop down is not showing.Component Tree Drop Down Not ShowingComponent Tree Drop Down Not Showing

As shown, selecting the arrow beside 'sheet' doesn't do anything when this happens.

Therefore to show/hide components and sketches I have to create a new drawing to get the drop down tree.

Hi darrenEZWXR,

Does the sheet you're showing have a base view placed on it?  If you create a new sheet, the drawing browser is empty until you place a base view on that sheet.  Same if you start a new drawing then cancel the default base view before it's placed. When you place a new base view the browser should get populated, then you can uncheck the desired components.

Thanks,

Chris

Hi @cmiller66,

Unfortunately it does happen when I have a base view placed, which is why it is such an inconvenience as I have to now check each time in case I have to create a new sheet until it appears.

Hi darrenEZWXR,

Oh, ok.  That is the first I've heard of this problem.  Are you on Mac or Windows?  Which version?  I'm assuming the browser in the model environment is working fine?  For a problem drawing like you show, does it appear on close/reopen of the drawing (or of Fusion)?  Is this problem new with the most recent update or have you seen it in the past?

One option while creating multi-sheet drawings is to have the design and drawing open, then in the model browser select the components you want > Right-click > Create Drawing.  Then in the dialog that appears you can select the existing (open) drawing instead of Create New, and then either add a new sheet or add the view to an existing sheet.  This would eliminate the need to place the base view then de-select components in the drawing.  If you try this does the browser appear correctly?

Thanks,
Chris

Hi darrenEZWXR,

What's interesting now that I look at your images again, the Sheet heading isn't reflecting the sheet number.  In a new drawing, the "Sheet" heading in the browser switches to Sheet1 when the sheet and title block load.  If you save a drawing in the state you show and close/reopen does it still say just "Sheet"?  If so could you send me that drawing? In data panel click the version number > Open details on the web > Export in upper right corner to Fusion 360 Archive and send to christopher.miller@autodesk.com.

Thanks,
Chris
