Combine tool/split body tool create strange geometry from solid model

I was having an issue with a bad DXF file and the machine shops. I noticed that some very strange geometry is created when using the combine/cut tool and the split body tool using a plane as the cut tool. The solid body is "sliced" using a template. The template is used in conjunction with the combine tool/cut feature. You can immediately see the funky geometry in the preview before hitting "ok" .

When the solid is sliced using a plane and the split body tool, the same happens. The strange geometry seems random and it cannot be deleted/pressed/extruded. The strange geometry is sliced and highlighted with blue.

Attaching your file to the thread may get you some advice (File|Export|Archive files *.f3d).

Select the affected bodies, or components in the browser, right-click and select "display detail control".

Change it to fixed/high and these viewport tessellation artifacts should disappear.

Thank you very very much!
2 questions..
1) By leaving the file the way it is does that change/make funky dimensions upon export?
2) Is there a way to set the preferences to avoid having to do this step individually?

No, this does not actually change the geometry of your part. It's a display glitch that is introduced by Fusion 360's LOD (level of detail) algorithm in geometry with high spect ratios.

I am not aware of a preference setting that changes this.
