Cloud Rendering Difficulties

I've been trying to familiarize myself with features I haven't used before, and decided last night to try out cloud rendering since I have nearly 1100 cloud credits that I beleive reset at the end of the year. When I open the cloud rendering window, approximately 95% of the time I can't click on any of the buttons or make any changes. When it is in that state, I can click on "Render" and let the settings be, but again only about 50% of the time will it even let me click on that button.

The first time I was able to click on "Render", I left all the setting (no by choice) and let it go on and render. The image showed up in the rendering gallery strip window at the bottom of the application, but I now cannot figure out how to download or open the image. If I right click, left click or center click on the image tile with my mouse, it does nothing. My understanding is that you would click on the image tile and it would open in a window where you can choose to download it.

The second time, I waited until by whatever luck is involved I was able to change settings in the Cloud Rendering window, then clicked on "Render". Both times the rendering took only a couple of minutes, maybe 5 tops, which is great, but as with the first image I am still unable to figure out how to download the image. To this point, I have not seen the results of either rendering and can't really say how well they came out, or what the difference in settings looks like.

So there are two problems I need to figure out. First, why can I rarely change any of the settings in the Cloud Rendering dialog box? I can click on it 50 times with no ability to use anything in the box, requiring that I just click "Cancel". Then for no apparent reason, I can open the Cloud Rendering window and suddenly all the options are available to change, and I can easily click "Render" when finished. Other times, I can click "Render", but nothing else. Has anyone else had this problem or is it some sort of user error?

The second question I need to find an answer to is; how do I download the image once it has shown that it is completed in the "Rendering Gallery" window? I can see the clock icon, then a quick shot of the image with a progress bar, then eventually no progress bar after it has completed. I just can't seem to find any way to interact with the image once it's done. Is there somewhere online where it is stored in a folder? Am I supposed to be able to click on the image right there in Fusion and do something with it?

Thanks!

-Mike

After some more testing, I managed to get the files to download once after exiting the rendering environment and re-entering the rendering environment. I have not been able to repeat that succuss since then, but I was able to learn how the tiles in the Rendering Gallery are supposed to work. 99.9% of the time, they don't do anything on my desktop. I then went to my laptop, which is over 10 years old now, and was able to successfully do everything you are supposed to be able to do when it comes to cloud rendering. There must obviously be something wrong with how Fusion is interacting with my desktop, which is kind of backwards since it's only 4 years old or so and quite powerful even by current standards (many of the components, including the video card are much newer than that as well).

What kind of settings might interfere with the cloud rendering system?

Hi Mike,

Your experience is definately not the norm, and I would like to work with you to learn more about your system and troubleshoot why you are having so much trouble with this.  If you don't mind, can you contact me at brent.espenship at autodesk.com so I can work with you directly?  The first thing I'm going to ask is some more specifgics about your hardware and environment (Mac vs Windows (what version), graphics hardware, processor, and memory, etc).

Yep! I have the same problem! I just started a new thread on this (before finding this one), but it is the same exact problem as michaelmoe! Can't find any way at all to download renders.
