@Steven_Gao There are several such material that differ between the cloud and canvas/local render.

@Steven_Gao - it's an appearance.  not in the materials.

Thank you, guys! I got the appearance and confirmed this problem. I have logged an internal defect(FUS-99359) to track it now.

@, it would be great if you can provide the detailed appearance list of your mentioned which have the cloud rendering issue.

Thanks,

Steven

A simple forum search shows three posts about the exact same problem as the OP, as far back as 2018.

Here is one that is reported as a bug.

Here is the material I came across in recent work.

It is the Aluminum Brushed Radial. It renders nicely in the canvas and local render but is not visible in the cloud render.

It is also not visible in the web viewer.

nope!

the physical material is used for the physics properties, lake mass.

appearance is only the way it looks and has no bearing on things like mass.

you can apply both to the same object, but the material will be used for mass

and the black leather you pointed out is only found under appearances, not material, which is why @Steven_Gao couldn't find it initially.

@TrippyLighting I checked the Aluminum Brushed Radial. I saw it has the display issue via web viewer, but I can see the result with cloud rendering. Please refer to the attached pictures.

Thanks,

Steven

Not the case here on my side. These were just rendered. I can share the file privately.

Yes, it seems there is a problem for your dataset with cloud rendering. Please help to share your dataset to me(mingwei.gao@autodesk.com) and I can add it into the above defect to let development team to take a look.

Thanks,

Steven

I've been digging into this a little deeper.

The material in question was originally "Steel - Brushed Radial Overlap". I changed the color to a much lighter grey so it would look more like machined Aluminum. Then I called it "Aluminum - Brushed radial Overlap" and saved it to "My Appearances"

Interestingly enough, in My Appearances it shows up in the Metal->Steel" folder.

So in the image below the torus and upper left box are Aluminum - Brushed Radial.

The upper right box has the Aluminum - Brushed Radial Overlap from My Materials applied to it.

The lower right box has the Steel - Brushed Radial Overlap applied to it.

In essence it's the Steel material that poses the problem, not the ALuminum.

Model is attached.
