Circular Intersect woven pattern on non symmetric body

Hello,

 

Is there any way to model a woven pattern on a non straight path?  

 

I know how to design something like Image 1 by using intersect and then a circular pattern.  How can I do something similar but with a non symmetric design, like Image 2?

The image 2 is showing a Klein Bottle. That already can be a challenging object to model in a solid modeling application  without the pattern.

 

Sometimes the sheet metal environment can be helpful to deform regular patterns, but it would not work on a klein bottle.

It is possible but it requires significant work. You could remove faces close to the sections overlap and connect them manually with Bridge.

While that is true, at that point in time you need to start asking yourself if you are actually using the right software tools. 

In Blender this is easy to do and if the only purpose to get this back into FUiosn 360 is to render, then the time is also likely better spent learning Blender's render engines. Structures with that much geometry are the realm of Sub-D and polygon modelers or perhaps Rhino & Grasshopper.

I bet SideFx Houdini with its procedural modeling would also be interesting.
