Chamfer ending before corner

Hello

I have a question about chamfering a part.

I chamfered a part in the CAD section of fusion360. But this way the chamfer mill will crash into the side of the part. Because the chamfer runs completely to the 'wall' of the part.

I don't see a option to end the chamfer sooner? Should this be done in the CAM section?

When doing the chamfer CAM operation you can specify a negative tangential extension distance, which causes the tool path to end short of the end of the actual chamfer in the model.  This is specified in the same Tab where you specify the chamfer contours in the CAM workspace.

How it appears in the model, and how you treat it in CAM are two separate issues.  You can model the chamfer, or not.  Either way, you can make the toolpath stop short of the end of the feature in CAM.  Only the settings you use in the CAM chamfer operation will be different.
