Centerlines fail in section views

If I create centerlines on holes that are parallel with the section plane in a 2D section on a drawing, then update the part in any way that relates to the holes, those centerlines fail. That would be manageable but then it is impossible to recreate the centerlines without completely deleting and recreating the section view. If I try to recreate the centerlines they show up in the bottom left hand corner of the sheet with an unattached symbol.  This bug is a serious time suck.

Thanks for your submission, but what you described is a bug, not an idea. Moving it to the forum.

Hi Chris,

When the centerlines fail, are you seeing the yellow ! icon appear or is something else happening?  If you right-click the yellow badge you have a re-associate option, does this work for re-setting the line to the hole?  Is it a single segment section line or multiple segments?

We are investigating what sounds like a very similar (maybe the same) issue right now.  Would it be possible to send me your design/drawing?  If not even a before/after screen capture would help. Please send to christopher.miller@autodesk.com.  It would be good to verify the fix for the current problem takes care of your bug as well.

Thanks,
Chris

Hello Chris,

Thank you for your interest in the problem.  The yellow ! icon appears.  When I try to reassociate the centerline it doesn't work.  So then I delete the centerline and try to recreate it and instead of it showing up in the expected place, a yellow ! icon appears in the bottom left hand corner of the drawing.  These are single segment centerlines.

It has happened on pretty much every model I have made where I have a section view through a hole and update some seemingly inconsequential detail like the length of the part.  I will create an example to send to you.

Thanks,

Chris
