Centering mesh object in the world

I have a mesh body that is very far away from the origin of the world 0,0,0. I wonder if there is a way to redefine the origin of the world or to move the mesh body to the current orgin? Another post suggested using the align tool - although this doesn't seem to work - even when creating a component from the mesh body.

I have been zooming out with the grid turned on until I can find the origin of the world, then slowly manually positioning these parts.. Any advice appreciated!!!

Hi,

Yes you can't use the align tool for a mesh body.

I was working yesterday on this model in the picture below, and I was inserting a mesh of the rock holding the hammer ( Mjolnir ) from Autodesk ReMake, and I tried to scale it and then align it but it didn't work, so I tried to move it instead, but another problem occurred, everytime I try to move the mesh it goes back to it's original shape again

I solved that by turning the quad mesh into a T-Spline body then finishing the form to get a normal body to use align or whatever I want

And it's so important for you to know that when you render your model the mesh won't appear as if it was never inserted

Best Regards, Saeed

When you insert a mesh, there's an option to center the mesh body.

If you've already placed the mesh, you can edit the mesh body in the timeline or enter the mesh environment (direct modeling) and use the Move command.

I hope that helps.

Thanks,
