Circular Patterns

Can anyone help with this problem I'm having?

I'm trying to create a pattern around a filleted cylinder but when I try to create a circular pattern using the single entity I created I get an error, it says too complex and to select less objects.

The pattern I'm trying to create is shown below. There are 2 solids selected, one straight and one curved, both were created using sweep. Maybe there is a better way of doing this and that would not causee the error?

For the pattern type select bodies. You have faces and you've only selected 2 so the ends must be open, I think that's why you see an error because the result would not be solid.

I got an error when the sweep didn't cut through to the center of the ring.  When I deleted those faces the pattern worked.

Note: The sweep operation was a single operation selecting both the straight and curved path (which was also used to create the ring).

Thanks, that sort of helped, I tried to use Bodies but it would not let me select them, I had to just select the faces I needed. Initially I selected the items in the timeline expecting that what it selected would work.

Thanks for this, because my design was the other way around, I had to select additional faces then it worked. Initially I selected the objects using the timeline rather than clicking on actual entities.
