Cannot Open file (fusion outage related?)

Hey Guys,

apparently there is a problem with the cloud. I managed to get into offline mode. However, the file I have been working on 1-2 hours ago has a spinning circle around it and the name is greyed out, I cannot open it. Does anyone have any hints how I can access the file?

It does not make sense to me that I cannot access it when I saved it on the same computer, even though I closed Fusion and restarted the computer ...

thanks!
Wolfgang

Edit: most funny detail: I can edit all other parts I have ever created or worked on, but this only file, the last one I have worked on probably even during the outage without taking notice of it is unavailable.

Have you tried to work offline in Fusion 360 to see if it will help?

There is a command located in the Name Drop down menu on the upper right hand corner.

Working in offline should get rid of the spinning progress meter and allow you to access the design. This meter is just indicating that design hasn't finished syncing to the cloud yet. This makes sense since we are currently experiencing an outage.

Consult the Autodesk Health Dashboard or follow the pinned post to stay up-to-date.

If the work offline command is not working, can you try restarting Fusion 360 to see if it make the command function normally? In my case, I had to disconnect my computer from the internet (disabled both wi-fi and LAN adapters), then restart Fusion 360. Once Fusion 360 came up (it took a while to get through splash screen) the command work offline command worked normally.

If all else fails, you might be able to fish the design F3D) file out of your local cached directory. Once you locate the file (I'm betting it is in your %localappdata%\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\****\W.LoginQ  (upload queue folder)), you make a copy and use the File > New Design from file command to open.  I note that you can save a local archive of your Fusion Design for safe keeping as well.

Note: The above workflows will only work with designs without XREF's.

Sorry for all of the troubles! We are hoping to have this solve as soon as possible. I hope this suggestion helps in the meantime!

Thanks,

We are all experience some weirdness with access cached data right now, even in offline mode. This is definitely related to the current outage - try looking for the data manually as Nate pointed out in his last couple of paragraphs. Once you find it, you can do an file > new design from file.

Thanks for the help guys! I indeed found the file in the AppData folder.

As a suggestion, I do understand why those files are being moved into the upload folder and get stuck if the service is unavailable, however not being able to actually open the design that has just been saved locally because the cloud is offline but having to manually locate it in a hidden folder does not make much sense from a user perspective. But I'm sure Autodesk is working on this!

thank again!
