Cannot Extrude or Press/Pull lofted object

Not sure why - I am usually able to use these tools without a problem.

But here, no matter how I try, I can never select the profile I want to extrude. I click and click in different places and it just remains unselected, with no indication as to why it cannot be selected.

The blue item is a loft object. Is there any reason why I cannot Extrude or Press/Pull a lofted object?

How can I achieve the same result?

Thanks

Having just read your previous thread about sketch objects, this one tends to suggest the selection settings may not be as expected.

Press pull on a face, creates the offset result, but not sure you can do it to a feature, to move the loft feature as if being push pulled, I am thinking it would have to be scaled.

i would check you selection button, top right if menu, near the end, see what is ticked there, and when going to sketches, check again.

might help.

Hi @lindsay.fowler,

This is why...2017-02-26_155638.jpg

To fix this, you need to Right Click on the Bodies folder and choose "Selectable/Unselectable"

@Beyondforce,

That's a new one on me; what's it for?

This seems to only apply to a particular Bodies folder; I made them Unselectable but when I opened the selection filter bodies was still checked.

You can use it for many things. If you want to make a multi bodies selection except for a specific body, then you can make this body unselectable.

Kudos to you Sir @Beyondforce, I was excited that you had solved my problem, but unfortunately this is not the solution...

As you can see, I have now made the folder selectable, but I still cannot select the profile (little rectangle at the end of the tool).Screen Shot 2017-02-27 at 8.27.38 pm.png

File looks fine, maybe the case is that you like to extrude non-planar faces, but you should be able to offset them:
