Cannot Export Versions to STL

Im currently experiencing a problem with the fusion 360 Hub when exporting versions. Whenever I export a version of a design that is not the top or current promoted design, it always fails, no matter what. Only when you promote that version to the top of your versions and then export, does it then successfully export as an STL. I realise this has an easy fix by just promoting the version, but there is still an inherent problem somewhere that you/I cannot export unpromoted versions even though the functionality is built in.

I tried this and it worked for me when I export STL from an earlier (not promoted) version of a file.  What failure are you seeing?  Is it just not doing anything?

Screen shots of any errors can help us figure out what is going on.

I can reproduce this if the version was last saved in History Capture mode.  I checked this workflow with a newer build of Fusion360 and it works for me even in history capture mode.  Until the next update you will need to promote the earlier version and switch to direct modeling mode for STL export.

Hi Andy, thanks for your help. In terms of the error like yourself I got no error messages, just a notice saying export failed. This might seem like amatuer question but what is the history capture mode? That temporary fix works fine for now until the next update.

History capture mode came with the latest update and is built on the new parametric abilities.  Here is a link that will tell you more.  Getting Started link
