Cannot create components from bodies

Rt-clicking a body brings up a short list of items which does not include "create components from bodies".

The items shown are: Create selection set, Configure, Properties, Save as mesh, Copy, Show/Hide, Isolate,  and Find in Window.  Why isn't the expected menu list displayed?

This design was opened from the Data Panel.

Please capture a screen image showing the Browser, the body you are right clicking on and the resulting context menu.  This will help the Forum users diagnosis your issue.

I did not see where you have posted a screen capture to show what you are seeing so I will attach one of my own to show you the command is indeed there.

I did post a screen shot but perhaps I didn't do it correctly.  Here it is.

John. I have a similar situation as was shown in your screen capture. I created a sketch and extruded to a body. So I am at the same point as in your picture. When I select Create Components from Body a component is created and the body is inside, as expected. However the sketch associated with the body does not move under the newly created component. The sketch is 'above' the new component in the hierarchy. What did I do wrong?

Hi!
1. Create a component

2. Drag the sketch of the newly created component

Then the sketch and body will come under the newly created component.

that doesnt work

Create new coponent expects a body to be selected. if you dont jhave a body selected it will not allow component creation.

There are two ways in which you can create a component without involving a body.

1. You can right click on file name in the browser (untitled) and select create component

2. Using create menu you can create a new component

@rouchi_sf

It is the same as it has always been.

Simply toggle to Hybrid if you want the old behavior.

Hi,

Your description has no relation to the topic of this thread, but rather to the recently introduced system of intent-driven design.

There are now various posts on this topic with instructions on how to select the “Hybrid” option in the preferences, for example, or how to switch between options inside active designs.
