Hi,

I am Arka Prasun Gupta. a furniture designer from Josmo Studio and currently we have been using the Fusion software for about 9-10 months.

We have a request for a feature that would definitely improve our workflow: a way to setup and regulate ratios of linear components against one fully defined linear component within the same sketch.

to give an example of what we are speaking about let us consider a a table with a moderately detailed leg. Now if the leg section size needs to be tweaked, we need to go in there and set those new relations up manually for the details to work cohesively. What if we could set that relation up to one line(within that sketch) in such a manner that the details within the sketch react and resize manually like a sub feature of the drawing feature within the Sketch menu?

This feature will definitely help us speed up revision work or changes in design decisions much faster than putting in correct relations each and every time.

I would like to know what the community and the developers of the software think about such a feature, is it necessary, can it cause unnecessary complications?

Let me know if you require me to show the problem with a sketch.

Hi,

Have you tried IF statements?
Please upload a sample file with the corresponding instructions for analysis.

IF statements, as in python code? We are a bit lacking in that area.

there are lots of options.  From your description, probably a set of user parameters and equations might be enough.  If the logic is more complex, then @g-andresen 's suggestion of using IF in a parameter equation could help (you can use if statements in an equation, see parameters reference ).  Finally, if the logic is very complex, use configurations (which are only available with a commercial license).  See:  Configurations Overview

Can you provide a concrete example in the form of a video and associated model?

I have worked with Sub-D modeling 15+ years, but I have to admit that I don't understand how this request relates to it.
