Can the Version History for a File be Deleted?

I have a file that is on v21, and I don't care to retain the version history and just want my now completed design to be v1. Is there a way to clear out the version history and have this completed file be v1?

One way is to do a Save As and save with a new name, can't see any way to just delete versions. Actually you can have 2 files with the same name on the cloud so you can just do a save as then delete the file with the unwanted version.

I have done this with some success, but it if the file "saved as" is part of an assembly, then the new file is outside of that assembly tree. This is a problem when there are complex joints or other constraints relying on the original file.

It sounds like you have a design (A) that is referenced by another design (B).  And you want to remove all the versions of design A except the latest.

This is super easy.

Try this:

If the component model that is being replaced also has a drawing associated with how do you associate the drawing with the new version?

Only way is to download the 2d drawing file as an f3z then reupload. The f3z file for the 2d drawing will also contain all 3d designs referenced in the 2d drawing so you might want to upload to a new project or folder then delete the original. This will not work if you have more than one drawing file linked to the design though.

To download the drawing you need to use the online dashboard, when you request the download you'll be emailed a link to the f3z file when it's translated.
