Can't Split Body ("improper face/face intersection" error) Solved

I am following this tutorial to make my sketch into a curved 3D object. So basically following the tutorial and just skipping the last steps. I only need the curved strip made from the sketch, not the cylinder. Unfortunately, when I tried to split the body to separate the cylinder from the part I'm trying to make, I get an error: "improper face/face intersection". I can't delete the cylinder either, so I'm a bit stuck.

I saw a previous post on this error that suggested creasing, but I couldn't find that function in my program. (I'm using the free personal version.)

Here is a link to my project, if anyone has suggestions on how to split the body, or an alternative way to get this done, I would greatly appreciate the help!

Either your are using a Fusion Personal License, which your cannot Share a model, or your forgot to check the Download selection.  Your model is not accessible by the supplied link.

If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

Thank you! I’m new to Fusion so I hadn’t considered that. Just using extrude to delete the cylinder worked

@anlatourette

This sketch does not appear to be correct.

Also, you can use Equal (=) Constraints rather than repeating the Ø2.50 dimension.

Use one of the Slot sketch tools for that geometry...

Oh! Thanks, I will remake that model then, don't want my buggy sketch to mess up the printing. The Slot functions were really interesting to learn about, thanks for introducing them to me. Unfortunately, they don't work for this project because the piece I'm working with is actually a bit tapered, so one end is slightly thicker than the other.

@anlatourette

Will still work.

Attach your file here when you get it finished.
