Can't Find Render Motion Study

Hello All,

I have a motion study that I would like to get a video from. I was looking for the Render Motion Study command in the rendering workspace but I can't find it. I also looked for it in the rendering gallery but there was no option to re-render as a motion study.

Can I do that using the regular Fusion 360 or do I need Fusion 360 Ultimate?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for posting! Have you saved the Fusion 360 design since the motion study was created? To render a motion study, you need to;

1. Create the motion study in the design.
2. Save the design,
3. Create a rendering of the current version of the design. Renderings of previous versions (from before the motion study was created) will not show the option to render the motion study. If you want to use one of the previously rendered views for the rendering of the motion study, you will need to re-render them as still images before rendering the motion study - this will update them to the current version of the design.
4. Open the rendering preview created in Step #4 - you will then see the option to render the motion study.

I'm using Fusion360 version 2.0.4358 still could not find out render motion option. I've save the file after created motion study. 

Please advice

I am having the same issue. I saved the model with the motion study created. Still no "render as motion study" icon when I rendered the new version.

I figured I would chime in on this old thread since I just had the same issue. I found that the option to render as motion study only comes available if rendered in the cloud. When I render locally, I don't see the option... only option is to render as turntable

Hi guys, after over an hour of google searching and trying to follow instructions I figured out the missing ingredient.  

This only works if you create a named view, set to cloud rendering and drag a render into where it says "drag and drop views here" in the bottom corner of the render screen, then save the project again to create the "automatic render on save".

Once that is done select that view from the gallery and cloud render a "video" on the lowest settings.  Once that is done you get an image (not a video) which you again open up from the rendering gallery and now the button for motion study is finally there.   

Also, apparently you can only do motion study videos even at the lowest quality setting with cloud credits.

This is ridiculously convoluted! Thanks for figuring it out for me though!

And the fact that we can only do a motion study render in the cloud is preposterous! OMG! So now I've got to go to my supervisor and ask to buy cloud credits do do a rendering!

I'm still getting used to a lot of things in Fusion, but this seems like a load of you-know-what. I purchased a license for Fusion so that I could the software to it's (and my) potential. I can understand offering cloud rendering as a faster, unencumbered operation for tedious renderings and charging cloud credits for the use of that feature. But why in the name of all things holy can't I use the local render for a motion study without burning credits just to find out I need to change something?

Seriously AD, you can't even give us the lowest quality settings before we commit to spending extra money on renders? If I want to cheap out and bog my computer down for the rest of the day on a motion study, that should be my prerogative.

Agreed. Furthermore, cloud rendering with 0 credit  (ie. lowest quality) shows a video that doesn't play 😞shows button, but won't play
