Did you follow all of these steps when you uninstalled and reinstalled?

WINDOWS
     Uninstalling

         1. Go to the Start Menu > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs.

         2. Select the existing Autodesk Fusion 360  entry from the list

             and click Uninstall.
         3. Upon completion of the uninstall program exit Control Panel.

     Clearing remaining program files:
          1. Launch Windows Explorer.
          2. Navigate to: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Autodesk
          3. Delete the following folders (if present):

              - Web Services

              - Webdeploy

              - production

              - Neutron Platform

              - Neutron

          4. Next, navigate to: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Common

           5. Delete the following folders:

              - Material Library

              - DB Manager

              - 7Z*.*

              - Autodesk
              - proteinrun

Hi,

Regarding the failure to shut down you may also want to ensure you have all the Windows updates. There are several KB patches that don't get installed automatically.

Also, if the issue continues please attach your Fusion 360 log files. These can be generated from the "?" menu > Diagnostic Log Files.

I am currently running windows 8 and have automatic updates turned off, I don't like 8.1 as some of my programs had issues running. So I would have to say, no it's not up to date.

I also followed the Uninstall instructions posted above. After I selected Uninstall and accessed windows explorer and coulnd't locate a single folder listed on the C:\ Drive

Hi,

On locating the files ot delete it may be the folders are hidden on your system (which is the default).

In Explorer, type the path in the command line - c:\users\<yourusername>\appdata - then press <Enter>. It should display that folder's contents. From there you should be able to see the Local and ROAMING folders. If you go into Control Panel you can turn off "hiding" files/folders.

On the updates, it is always advised to keep your system current as support for older drivers/services may go away without you realizing it. Additionally, support for services associated with the internet or network connections can affect Fusion 360's ability to connect/communicate with our servers.
