Can't Edit Features

Hello All,

I cannot edit features anymore now that the system has updated. I don't have the same history feature bar at the bottom of my screen, and when I right click on features such as "extrude" in the model tree...there is no edit option.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Sean

Hi Sean,

Is this happening on a single file or on many of your designs?  Would you be able to share a link to your design?  If you don't feel comfortable posting a public link here, can you send it to me at sanjay.jayabal@autodesk.com?

regards,

Sanjay.

Hi Sean,

Beside Sanjay’s questions, could you attach a screenshot of the model tree where you saw the problem? It sounds you were opening a history-free model (because you mentioned there was an “Extrude” entry in the model tree), thus the Edit operation is not supported.

You can right click on the root node in the model tree and check the items in the context menu. If there is an entry named “Capture Design History” at the bottom, it means it’s a history-free model. You can use the command above to turn it into a history-based model.

In history-free model, we cannot “Edit” feature, but we can change the model size easily by using the Press/Pull command.

So I am now having the same exact issue after an update. I built a model previous and I know it had a history but now it has converted to a history free model and I cannot edit my extrusion. Is there anyway to get back the design history? Why does this happen?

Do you see this issue with all of the prior work that you created or only with one particular file? Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?
