CAD model - Component creation for "multilayer" effect / 3D PRINTING !!

Hello

Basically what i would like is the corners of all 5 sides (bottom excluded) of the cube and the 3 hearts in the center to be ONE component and the rest of the cube be ANOTHER.

I will attempt to print this cube but i want to make it 2 different colors (dual extruder). Any help and/or advise is VERY WELCOMED!

You'll need to convert the mesh to BRep.  The file is already in Direct Model mode, so you can just right click on the mesh in the Browser and convert it.

Once it's converted, use planes and/or other geometry to split the BRep into the individual pieces.  For example:

Select one of the triangular faces in a heart.

Create a sketch.

Project the rest of the heart boundary to the sketch.

Break link on all of the projected lines.

Remove the interior lines.

Stop the sketch

Extrude the heart. (You may want to extrude it a few milimeters or if the heart on the opposite side matches extrude it to that heart.)

Use Combine|Cut operation (Select New Component and Save Tools) to cut the heart from the main body.

Repeat for each of the desired separate parts.

Printing will depend on how your slicer handles multiple filaments.

In case you haven't figured out how to split the model, a simpler method is to just select a face on the body and use the Split Body tool (after converting to BRep).

Note: If you want to separate the heart from the surrounding raised part, just follow the instructions in my first post.
