Buttons, ribbons, and toolbars don't respect layers

Has anybody had a problem where their toolbars bleed through other windows? There are two aspects of this I have seen:

Aspect 1 - menus apear in other window: In this situation the toolbar buttons bleed through to other windows. This makes for some really confusing navigation. Here is an exmaple of the toolbar bottons showing up in chrome.

Aspect 2 - click-through to invisible toolbar buttons: This happens when I have fusion open but its window is behind another active window. So for example, I might be on a website and I move my mouse to  click some link that happens to be in the same screen locaiton as a button on the tool bar that is not visible because it is lower in the stack of windows. But clicking in that location makes the fusion toolbar bleed thorugh to the active non-fusion window. That then pulls fusion up to be the active window. I dont have a screenshot because it is a transient effect, but I hope it is pretty clear.

Is there some setting I can change to fix this? Has anybody else run into this issue? It just seems like Fusion is not respecting the layers of windows.

I am using a 2012 MBP with ElCap.

Can you tell us whatch graphics card is in the MBP? Do you use any external monitors when this issue occurs or is this on the default laptop monitor?

I note the below idea has been added to the ideastation. You may want to vote this idea up if this behavior is impacting you.

Thanks,

One possibility is that once the video card is overloaded, you seeing this issue. Does the behavior persist when you are not using any external monitors? Or when all other background applications have been closed? Or both?

Do you find that you ever get stuck when this situation comes up or can you minimize Fusion 360 or another application to work around the issue?

Thanks in advanced for any information you can share on this topic.

Sorry for the long delay here. I doubt that it is the graphics card getting overloaded. This happens when fusion is just opened with no file loaded. IE, no graphics being displayed. This also happens on an external or native monitor. Minimizing does not always work as sometimes fusion windows are reappear after the minimization closes.

I would love to provide more info, but really this happens in the most boring of times. We have 3 people using Fusion and we all see it. Are you saying that you don't have this issue? From our standpoint it is ubiquitous.

Hi @innovatenate this topic has come up many times and I doubt it's got to do with the graphics card. I's been comunicated that it has to do with the software framework in use and it's being worked on.

This really looks like the smae issue when working on a mac with an external monitor, or when switchig "spaces" o the mac or it's also been labeled as Fusion stealing Focus. Most every mac user experiences this sooner or later including me. I just don;t find it as annoying as others 😉

@TrippyLighting, Yeah... all our employees experience it. I seems like it has come up a lot and Autodesk must be aware of it. Do you think it wille ever be resolved? Seems like a pretty fundamental bug.

@Murenrb

Hi thanks for pointing this out.

The problem and solution are widely discussed and being worked on. As noted in this recent post:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/design-validate-document/jumping-between-desktops-mac/td-p/6254925

So please be patient, we are working on fixes. This is a known problem with OSX and we have to work around it. Until recently we had dependencies that made a fix impossible. I'm going out on a limb here because we aren't yet convinced that we can solve all the problems in this area. So I don't want to falsely raise hopes too early.

Your picture shows the Fusion menus on top of a web page. In my experience, the only way to achieve this is to minimize Fusion for a while, and then click on the Fusion app dock icon, rather than the open Fusion design window that is also on the dock. Is this your experience? Or do you get this effect in some other way? Your steps to achieve it will help us create and test a fix for it, so please let us know how you do it.

Thanks, we hope to fix this and your input helps.

Regards,
