BUG: Parameters turning to shortcuts

Hi,

I have been using Fusion for a year or so now and this is the first time I have noticed this problem.

I made two user parameters: 'AA' the diameter of a circle = 33.3mm. 't' the thickness of cylinder I want to make = 3.6mm.

When I sketch a circle and type AA in the dimension, it works fine and I get a 30mm diameter circle. When I sketch a second circle and try to type AA+t in the dimension, the trim shortcut opens and I lose the dimension. If I type t+AA in the dimension, then I get a circle with a diameter of 36.9mm as expected.

I am using the latest version: 2.0.2539

I can use the work around, but I see this being a problem if I start making more parameters that open their shortcuts when I try to enter them into a dimension text box.

Thanks,

Matthew

Hi @redargon,

Welcome to the Fusion 360 Community!

I just tried this and was able to reproduce the same behavior. Let me check in with the team to see if this is a logged bug or not. I will go ahead and log this if it is isn't however. Great find on the workaround as well!

Thanks,

I believe your issue is the same as the issue I've been having. After it wasn't fixed in the December 2016 update I created

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/design-validate-document/dec-2016-problem-with-dimension-input-with-pa...

where one of the Fusion folk acknowledged the issue and my work-around. They stated they hoped to have a fix "soon". Me too!

There is a workaround, click once in the canvas.

Here is an example to show you how it works:

1. New Fusion file
2. Create a custom parameter and call it "ledmodel" (without the quotes)
3. Sketch a rectangle by dragging, no text input.
4. Dimension one of the sides (after finishing rectangle command)
5. Double click the dimension to edit it
6. Click in canvas once (key step)

So after step #5 you click the canvas once, the bug doesn't happen (the dimension HUD flashes briefly but it gets focus again). It will not interpret parameter text as hotkeys.
