Scenario - You have a 10' stick of pipe, cut in half to put in two places of an assembly. How do you create the two pieces so they show up as quantity of 1 (10' pipe) for both, instead of quantity of 2 (10' pipe), in the BOM?

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for posting!

As of right now, I believe Fusion 360 automatically populates the BOM based on the components in the design. This means that if there are two separate components in the design, they will appear as two separate components in the BOM. There is no way to edit the BOM at this time.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,

Hi mikebroussardD3RUV,

Welcome to the forum.

As  has explained, we don't have the ability to edit the Parts list contents at the moment. However, it sounds to me like your current problem could be solved by grouping the 2 pipe pieces (whether components or bodies) into the same component. The parts list only displays the info of components directly under the root asset selected.

I've created a Screencast that illustrates this. Hope this will work for you.

Thanks,
Krithika

That helps. Good for figuring BOM when working with stick (pipe, angle, flat bar, bus-bar) and sheet (plywood, glastic, lexan, metal) goods.
Thanks,
Mike
