Best way to design the component

Hi All,

Hope you all doing well.  I was designing a component from a drawing and I was struggling to get it right. Before also I had similar situation where I get stuck and tweaking on the dimensions. So when this came, I thought I will get an advice.

The above attached is the drawing of the component. I have attached the CAD model that I have made.

Can anyone advice which is the best way to design and if possible show how the planes and the angles are adjusted to get the dimensions.

Hope to hear from you all soon.

Many Thanks,

Anoopkrishna

Hi! You seem to be using Insider build, which is newer than the current production. The file cannot be opened on the current production build.

I believe this can be done in Fusion easily. You just need to create 3 sketches. The first one on XZ plane (or any origin plane) and create the curve path exactly like the base view. Create the second sketch on XY plane (or any origin plane perpendicular to the first plane and create the curve path exactly like the projected top view.

Lastly, create the 3rd sketch -> make sure check "3D Sketch" option in the panel -> Create -> Project/Include -> Intersection Curve -> pick the first curve -> pick the second curve. You will get the intersection curve. Use it as the sweep path.

Many thanks!

@johnsonshiue That was brilliant. Even though I couldn't completely get with you, I got the trick. When I drew the dimensions were interfering and all. But with a few try I am sure I can crack it. Thank you for your help.

@davebYYPCU

Thank you for that it really helped.

By best way I meant the right and easiest way to do it. And you both showed that.

@davebYYPCU The file you attached really helped in understanding and getting the idea.

A quick question is that, is this method learned from the Autodesk designer course or did you come up with the method.

Look forward to hear from you.

Regards

Anoop

Not done any course for 3d modelling, did do 2d CA Drafting a long time ago.

Self taught - with lots of help from this Forum.

Reading timelines from models filed with questions - was the quickest way to gather best practice.
