Application of material and appearance not functioning properly

I'm having a problem applying material and appearance.

F360 2.0.2377, Win10p

At the moment, I have 8 parts.  I'm only using 2 materials and 2 appearance models (brass and steel).

According to the properties of each item, the Material and Appearance settings are correct.  I have been having issue

getting these properties to be retained by the individual parts, but for now, it just seems to be a rendering issue; I've applied the correct material and appearance, and the properties tended to NOT change, but those setting seem to be okay for now.

All the Brass items seem to be rendering properly except one, while there is only one steel item that is properly rendered (1 of 4).

The steel parts, except for the one, have taken the same appearance as that of the brass ones.

The one brass item shows a knurled brass finish on one face, but the setting is for polished brass.  I had attempted previously to get it to show knurled, but it didn't do it.

This  thing is confused 10 ways from Sunday

ETA: interesting development... the parts seem to render OK in the Android App.. only look wrong in the actual application.  hmmmm  😕

Hi,

Thanks for posting.

I'm not sure from your description what is happening. The key thing here is: are you rendering locally or in the cloud? Can you provide screenshots showing what is wrong?

Thanks,

posting a photo might be later, I have to go to school....

using my desktop and laptop computer (I tried both), running F360, the objects in the app do not render correctly, but the properties are okay.

There were related problems earlier where the properties were not updated when the material and appearance were attempted to be modified.

seeing how the F360 app on my android phone show the parts correctly, I'm thinking that there is a problem with however the software is configured

to render.. I have no clue what you mean about rendering locally or in the cloud.   I'm using the F360 program on a windows 10p computer(s), however

the rendering is generated, I do not know, I just know that what I see on my computer is not correct.

The reason I ask is that you may have found slight differences when your computer is the one doing the hard work of rendering, or you are using the computers in the cloud to do the work. If so we need to address these as bugs.

Sounds like you are rendering locally. In order to diagnose the problem I will need to get a copy of your file. Can you export it as .f3d and attach here?

Thanks,

Got it. I thought you meant rendering.

Can you share the model? Without your data it's just a guessing game, and I'd rather give you a good answer than a guess. 🙂

well, last night, when I posted the above.. I started F360 and got the desktop, but just a white background, couldn't see the model   😕

I tried several things to no avail.  I finally rebooted, and lo and behold, I could see my model and all the appearances were as they should be!
I was just able to add a new component, and things seem to be working okay. I'm not sure what the problem was, as I was getting the same problem on two

separate computers.

I'll consider this issue closed.  Thank you for your patience and assistance.
