Addition print setting editor not working properly

Hello,

I am using a trial version of Fusion 360 and trying to 3D print a simple geometry.

At this moment, I am trying to set up the print protocol using the Addition menu from the Manufacturing. I followed the steps from this tutorial:

https://help.autodesk.com/view/fusion360/ENU/?guid=Fusion_CAM_tutorials_fff_setup_walkthrough_html

I am stuck at defining the print settings. No matter what print settings I select, if I want to edit them, there are no tabs to go through (see attachment). Also the setup window is missing the edit button of the print settings (see attachment).

The main issue is the print settings editor. Can you tell me why the tabs are missing?

Thank you,

CM

Hello @Anonymous

Can you please share your design?

This way we can try to diagnose the file.

How to share a file in Fusion 360

Have a pleasant day.

Regards.

Hello @serge.quiblier ,

Thank you for your reply. As I said, I was testing with a very simple design. You can find it in the following link.

Hi @Anonymous

i opened your f3d file without any trouble.

For editing the print settings, i used the button on the toolbar.

And if i display the print settings, it's ok. In his capture, i have opened the settings differently, going into the Manage section of the ribbon, then clicking on Print Setting Library button.

Maybe it's an issue with some elements on your computer.

The print settings file? Some dll used by Fusion?

Can you try to export the document print settings and send the file for analysis?

You can see the export button, it's on the line with the pencil for editing the print settings, the copy icon, and then the export.

Hi @serge.quiblier ,

Thank you for taking the time to help me with my problem. I have tried the two different ways to open the printer settings editor and got the same result:

I attached the print settings file, as you suggested. Let me know if you need anything else.

Thank you!

Hello @Anonymous

i am sorry to inform you, your file is OK.

it is working on my computer.

So the issue is on your computer, either something related to the OS, the software, some libraries...

But unfortunately, i don't have any idea what is causing this.

Do you have any issue with the Machine Library, or any other libraries?

Can you try for example to open a milling tool library and see what is happening?

You can try to import one of my print settings, if it can work?!

Here is an explanation on how to copy a post to a local library. The same workflow can be used for the print settings.

Adding a post to a local library

Hello @serge.quiblier ,

Thank you again for all your trouble.

I have installed the software on a different PC with windows 10, the one experiencing problems has window 8.1. Everything is working properly there, but unfortunately that PC is not as good as the one I am using. It might be the OS that causes the problem because I even tried to install it on another strong PC, that unfortunately has windows 7 on and I experienced the same issues I presented here.  So, using windows 10 might be the key.

I tried to reinstall on the windows 8.1 PC with no success. Unfortunately, reinstalling OS might not be an option, as will need to reinstall some other sensitive software, that are not easy to install.

I even saved a project built in the windows 10 version, and when I opened it in windows 8.1, I was able to see the print editor tabs. But that was only for this particular file. If I tried to create a new one, I experienced the same problem.

The libraries might have some issues, I can import what I need, but I cannot edit them. I did import the file from you and been able to see the tabs from the editor Tabs.JPG.

But I am experiencing another error when I try to generate a toolpath. That error was not present in windows 10, following the same procedure.

Best regards!
