A problem of loft (another time)

Hi,

I don't succeed to create a loft, with the profiles 1 and 2, the rails 1 and 2.

That works with the rail 2, not with the rail one.

In the attached file, the loft is done with the rail 2 (chain selection unchecked)

When I try to add the 2 curves of the rail 1, each curve adds a rail in the rail list, and the loft remains uncreated.

Since the rail 2 is created from a projection on a surface, I tried to make such projection of the rail 1 on the plane XY.

Then, there is a problem of projection - my post https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/design-validate-document/problem-to-project-curves-onto-a-plane/m-p/6...

Thanks for your help, I am really blocked at the moment.

When selecting your rails turn "Chain selection" off and select the individual rail segments one at a time.

Tx for your help, but that don't work with profiles 1 and 2.

Here is a file, more isolating this problem. The profile 0 is deleted.

Even with the 2 pieces of the rail 1, that don't work.

Btw, I want to create a loft from a form, not with the patch menu.

That's correct. In either case, whether you want to loft in the Patch or in the Form environment you'll have to apply a little more forethought when creating the rails. So for example if the end points of your rails coincide with the end points of your profiles, lofting in either case is not a problem and usually works fine.

Zoom on the end points of curves of my rails, and you will see that they aren't coinciding with the intersect points of my profiles (I thought about such events before posting here).

There is something else that makes this loft raising up some problem.
