3d wood end grain without the core

Hi internet

Is there a way to manipulate the 3d wood so that the end grain does not always contain the wood core? It looks so unprofessional. Is there maybe any plugin or downloadable material that could work around this?

Select the body, right-click, and select Texture Map Controls from the menu:

 Then you can manipulate the location and orientation of the texture.
