When you use the SplitBody Feature a body is cut in some parts and the . Is there a logic behind in which order the body is splitted and named? This might be interesting if you would like to remove certain parts.
Hi @rocco.mayr .
With enough testing, logic might be found, but it seems difficult.
To find the desired body, it seems safer to look for it not by name but by some other factor such as the location of the center of gravity or volume.
What @kandennti said is correct. The naming and order of the resulting bodies is controlled by the internal function that does the split. There has to be some internal logic but I don't know what it is and even if we did it would be difficult to describe because there can be so many cases depending on the shape of the model and the orientation of the split planes. It's best to analyze the results and find the pieces you're interested in.
So the new names for the splitted bodies would be the same? In this case it would make sense to search for the names when there are not so much bodies.
How could you search location of the center of gravity or volume? Do you have some code snippets?
You can get them by using the physicalProperties Property.
