Can't edit Python scripts

When I click "Edit" from the "Scripts and Add-ins" dialog, it doesn't open VS Code. Instead it opens another copy of Fusion 360.

The log says there is an error, but it doesn't say what the error is:

Was this on a Mac by chance? That sounds suspiciously similar to the behavior someone mentioned when they were trying to get PyCharm to attach to the Fusion process on a Mac  (here).

I am on a mac. Sorry, I forgot to post my platform.

Specifically I'm on a Macbook Pro running macOS 10.15.1, but it also happened before I upgraded yesterday.

I've got it working now. Thanks for the link. I told macOS to open all *.py files with VS Code, which got it running.

Well, it looks like I spoke too soon. I did get it working briefly, but it went back to the old behavior once I created my own script.

I have same issue on my mac. It did not help me to change the systemwide file association of .py with VS Code though. It still only launches a second instance of Fusion.
