Fusion used to include Spyder as part of the installation, and it was integrated with Fusion to allow you to debug scripts and add-ins with Spyder. They switched to VS Code a few years ago, so that's now the built-in integrated IDE. I know that some people have used PyCharm in the past, but it requires some additional work to be used for debugging. When VS Code was first integrated, there were some issues, so people were still looking for other options. However, much work has been done since then, and it works very good now. I don't see any reason to use anything else.
