The latest Fusion update in January introduces a new Scripts and Add-Ins dialog mentioned in the What's New and fully described in an updated help topic.
An issue was reported, and it turns out you don't have access to enable this new dialog if you're not in the Insider Program. I had posted a workaround, but Autodesk gave me another "permanent" one.
- Enable the TEXT COMMANDS dialog using the command shown below.
- Make sure the "Txt" option at the lower-right corner to the TEXT COMMANDS dialog is selected.
- Enter the following and press return.
FeaturePack.Enabled general.new-scripts-dialog /on
That enables the setting, even if you're not an Insider, and running the "Scripts and Add-Ins" command will display the new dialog. If you want to turn it off, you can disable it using the Preferences dialog.
What do you think about the new dialog? I like it. I have a LOT of scripts and add-ins, and this makes it easier to manage them. The new "Favorite" option is especially useful.
While communicating with Autodesk, they told me about two new problems recently discovered. Here they are and some workarounds.
- Fusion won't let you create a script or add-in with a name that contains Unicode characters (non-latin characters like Chinese). To work around the problem, create it using an ASCII character name and rename it afterward.
- If you link a script or add-in, Fusion may not remember it in the next session. The file where the links are maintained is not being updated when the link is created. To workaround this problem, do something else, like toggle "run on startup" on any add-in.
At the bottom of the new help topic, there is a list of other known issues and some questions they're hoping to get feedback on to know what to do next. What do you think?
Starting an add-in currently dismisses the dialog. Should this be the behavior?
Opening a script or add-in using the "Open in code editor" command should dismiss the Script and Add-Ins dialog.
Selecting the "Favorites" filter keeps the existing filter selections. Instead, should it clear all existing filters to show all favorites instead of only that matching the current filters?
Should the dialog remember the set from the last time the "Scripts and Add-Ins" command was run?
Sorting the list using the names currently considers the case of the name. An example of the result is shown below, which is not ideal, and it should ignore the case when sorting.

The icon for a newly created script or add-in is not displayed in the "Scripts and Add-Ins" dialog until Fusion is restarted.
Possibly remove the "Run" button from the properties section. It seems confusing to duplicate it here.
The ability to set the version is missing in the "New App" dialog. Is this desired?
Is there any reason to be able to choose if a script or add-in should only be shown on Windows, Mac, or both?
