My first add-in: Visual Styles

Hello everybody.

Today i want to share with you my first addin I have created couple days ago. Because my previous idea of "Customized bottom navigation bar" gained whole 10 kudos i decided to write some kind of substitute of this idea. Fell free to download and test it because it's free 🙂 Below screenshot and link to appstore.

MAC and PC

What it does?

Simply a couple of buttons to quickly change visual style of active viewport.

P.S. If you like it (or not) and use it please leave a comment in App Store to give me motivation to make it better or to write next one.

It doesn't work on my Mac, probably some permissions problem. Will wait for the installer and see.

Update: I opened the old installer with Suspicious Package and modify the VisualStyles.py file by opening it and copy paste the contents from the new one and then installed it, but with no luck.

I did this exactly and it didn't work. No visual styles setup between visual style and mesh display. I'd love to get it back. Disappeared after the most recent update September 2019.

Do you have a Mac or Windows PC? For me on a Mac it doesn't work, but for two other users it works, I don't know in what environment they work.

The newly released installer version 1.2.3 (10/1/2019) does not work for me on Fusion 360 2.0.6508 and MacOS 10.14.6.

I am experiencing the same issue. Somewhere in the last 3 updates it quite being compatible.

I had started a thread on it before I found this thread.

Thanks for looking into this.

I miss my Visuals.

Weird it's working for me 😉 even after reinstall. Maybe try to uninstall it, manually remove folder C:\Users\<YOUR USER NAME>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\VisualStyles.bundle  and install it again. Remember not to launch F360 while doing this.

Also update to lastest F360, mine is 2.0.6613

Do you have a PC or Mac? Have you installed the last version 1.2.3?

@goran_G

Thanks for your plugin, took me a while to find it but very happy with it now.

I hoped there would be a built-in possibilty to 'short-cut' the

Object- visibilty->All work features sequence

(see attached image)

Do you think your plugin could be adapted so that switching from 'all features' to 'no features' will become a lot easier? I added this idea to the ideastation a couple of months ago, but no response on it. https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-ideastation/shortcut-for-display-setting-gt-object-visibil...

This is an excellent idea.

wish there was a master switch for toggling all profiles and dims also, instead of having to go through sketches  individually.

@pawelzwronek -I can't seem to get visual styles to run on my win 10 pc.  I think I've tryed all the typical stuff (uninstall, restart, makesure fusion isn't running, run install, start fusion) it shows up in this directory-

C:\Users\my name\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\VisualStyles.bundle

but it's not in the add-ins list.

 Do you have any suggestions?

Love Visual styles! Works perfect on my Windows 10 F360 system. I bought a M1 Mac Mini, after hearing that Fusion runs nice and fast on the new Apple chip. It does! Much better than on the Window workstation. BUT, I have never gotten Visual Styles to install, ever, on my Mac. I run the script, like the instructions explain, and nothing happens.

I find working without it significantly harder. Can anyone explain what could be happening?

Thanks
