My first add-in: Visual Styles

Hello everybody.

Today i want to share with you my first addin I have created couple days ago. Because my previous idea of "Customized bottom navigation bar" gained whole 10 kudos i decided to write some kind of substitute of this idea. Fell free to download and test it because it's free 🙂 Below screenshot and link to appstore.

What it does?

Simply a couple of buttons to quickly change visual style of active viewport.

That still isn't working for me. Is there a way to get diagnostic logs so I can see what happens as it enumerates the plug-ins directory?

Do you want to try the rough way, downloading and using my own bundle file? If you want I can make it available via dropbox (hoping that this is not a problem for @pawelzwronek )

Maybe try to manually install it with this steps:

Extract somewhere attached file VisualStyles.bundle.mac.zip or VisualStyles.bundle.win.zip

1. Add-ins
2. Add-Ins tab
3. RMB on VisualStyles if any exists (On mac there is only on mouse button, right? Then maybe hold CMD on kayboard )
4. Remove
5. Green plus - add existing add-in. Choose extracted VisualStyles.py
6. Select VisualStyles
7. Click 'Run'
8. Select 'Run on Startup' checkbox.

Yes! That worked! It took a LONG time to load, locking up the UI until it figured itself out. It also asked me in the middle of that about storing preferences in the cloud (I should have answered No). but now it's all set up, I'm able to adjust which visual styles are on display, Thank you!

In the latest version of Fusion, and the latest version of Visual Styles, on Mac, Fusion 360 locks up if I try to change which visual styles are enabled. I get a beach ball within Fusion and I have to force quit the app. I'd post a screencast of it, but screencast locks up along with Fusion.

Mine did that, too, but it eventually came back. Took a long time (10 min?). Something about network prefs, I think.

I walked away for 3 hours and it was still frozen when I got back.

I have this installed and it's awesome. 

I only have one issue and i'm hoping it's an easy fix.

Every time Fusion does an update I have to set my preferences again 😞 minor issue I know but just annoying.

Just hit no it still works fine after fusion gets updated.

Yep, I should've put the configuration file in the roaming folder. I didn't know Fusion is changing folder after every update. Will fix that soon.

Version 1.2.1 with configuration moved to roaming directory is now live Win64 and MacOS

Thanks everyone for all your suggestions. I've tried all and I can't get the addin working. It shows in my addin window but it won't run.

Mac installer may not work properly, as it happened to me. But finally I've solved my problem.

Please check what you have in the library after plugin installation, this is the path: ~/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/ApplicationPlugins

If you have an alias file (icon has a small black arrow) as in the image below, then it will not work.

You need to have the actual bundle file, as in the image below.

If you have the "alias" problem, as I had, then you can solve your problem following these instructions:

1. Unpack VisualStyles-macos.pkg, I've used unpkg 4.5 available for free here: https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/16357/unpkg
2. Copy VisualStyles.bundle in this directory ~/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/ApplicationPlugins

Thank you Luca for all your help. I do have the actual plugin and not the alias. Don't know what is going on. Could it be a conflict with another plugin?.

Sorry, I've no idea. I've attached my bundle (zipped). My finder sizes it 826 Kb, instead of 827 Kb sized by your finder, may be it is different. If you want you can try it.

PS: your rolleiflex is great. I've done photos for 20 years using my tessar 3.5 rolleiflex. Insuperable for street photograpy.

Thank you for your help. I shoot mostly medium format and my Hasselblad is my go-to camera. My favorite street camera is my Mamiya 6. Can't seem to save preferences as I'm getting the choose dialogue. Web takes forever to save. Reading the other posts to see if I can find a solution.
