A zoom feature that lets you view at "to scale" size. This allows for more intuitive feel of the model you're creating, especially when you're working with smaller files.
This would be sweet, but Fusion would need to know your monitor specs/etc for it to be at all accurate. Too many times I zoom with a scale up against the screen to get stuff close, or print it out 1:1 on paper. Would be nice if this was an option for sure.
I gave you an upvote because the idea is cool, but it's really hard to make. There's option for that with pdf docs, and in archicad i think but as much as I seen those, they worked awkardly bad 😞 But I hope it happens one day.
I too would use this! It wouldn't be a terrible solution to have the user physically measure their screen and enter the dimensions into a first-run setup dialog, per device. Then Fusion would only need to additionally know its own window size within the screen.
It will not be difficult as it only needs a one-time calibration. Rhino for example supports Zoom 1:1 and the setup actually asks the user to measure the width of a specific bar on the calibration screen. It is one of my most frequently used function so I hope this gets implemented in Fusion someday.
Another vote for an on-screen scale, I keep digital calipers on my computer desk, but that only serves once as a verification, because as soon as I re-scale, it's gone without a trace.
A one time "THIS IS IT" input for my screens would be perfectly acceptable. Say a "1:1" symbol in the top header bar.
1) Enter display size ... x inches (is on every box)
2) Enter display aspect ratio (or it could be done automatically, that info should be seen by fusion to scale properly)
3) Use a known object (10cm bar, credit card, A4/A5 paper) to fine tune
Shouldn't be too difficult and it will be really useful. Getting sense of scale for small 3D printed objects would save me from perfecting sub 1 mm things no one will see anyway.
Fusion could show a 10cm or 3" ruler on the screen with a zoom button. Then the users puts a physical ruler on the screen and zooms in / out till it matches the on screen ruler. The user then presses the "Rules Match Button" and it is calibrated 1:1.
