I started with 3D modeling in Blender, and that program has a great feature where the number keys (on the number pad to the right on most keyboards) controlled which direction you were viewing. I'd LOVE to see the following:
Option for front, top, bottom, left, and right views set by default to 5, 8, 2, 4, and 6 respectively, with 7,9,1, and 3 set to some corner views.
Scrolling up and using the upper right orientation cube works well enough for now, but I love keyboard shortcuts.
