OSX: Force Foreground Processing Priority

OSX: Force Foreground Processing Priority

I am doing a bunch of rendering locally and when I switch to another window while rendering, the amount of processing dedicated to rendering is reduce due to Focus Theft as described here.  If would be nice if there was a way to prevent this from happening so that during renders that take a while (they take a while...?) I can work on other things/write emails etc.  Not sure how to do this or if it can be easily done but with only a single computer, this would lead to massive productivity gains and reduced rendering time.

Alternately, you could do cloud rendering without having to worry about local CPU usage at all.

In theory this sounds great, in practice, I have found the number of
iterations I want for rendering on my retina macbook pro is much higher
than the number done in the autodesk cloud (perhaps it is tweakable). It
also takes me a fair amount of tweaking to get the light right/camera
angle, blur etc and the cloud doesnt let me really iterate well.

I am producing photorealistic renders where the subtleties matter hence the
attention to detail.

Ah didn't know that and that's annoying and should be fixed.

Hi @Anonymous

Local back ground render will be released in March.  You will be able to set your image size and resolution independent of your screen rez.

Stay tuned,

Colin
