Currently, the zoom tool seems arbitrary in that it is difficult to designate a specific distance from a point or position for the camera to be located. Even if the distance were only designable with respect to the origin, it would still be extremely useful since it is currently very difficult to match the zoom parameter across separate views for renderings or other studies.
