Nesting

Nesting

I have multiple CNC machines and would love to see nesting. I currently use Alpha Cam, Router Cim, Xilog, and Holzher Hops to program all my different machines. I think Fusion is ripe for being able to tap into this sector of machining. The ability to share, and posts and all the other features have me chomping at the bit. I have made programs with it on one of my routers, but it would be great to create one nest, and be able to tool it and post depending on what machine I want to send it to. Huge time saver, since the actual nesting takes the most time finding the perfect nest, and its also frustrating not having the machine control in some cam packages (HOPS) to be able to do fancy machining

Is nesting in fusion 360 an closer to being a reality?

I think it's safe to say that you'll likely see it before the end of the year. All I know for sure is that it's
close.

I currently use Aspire to do any nesting that I need, which isn't very often but if you need some stuff done you could
email me the dxf files and I'd nest them for you and send the dxf finished file back to you. It doesn't take too
long. I'd do a couple for free but if you need lots then I'd have to charge some nominal fee, at least until Fusion
gets updated. Email me off line.

Be ready, Because Autodesk has established their new financial model for Fusion 360 with the recent set of pay to use options.  I hope when it finally arrives it isn't $100/month and unattainable for me like the other "updates"!?

I just saw this on Youtube.

360 LIVE: Nesting in Fusion 360

Have a look in the top left corner of the image. It seems that Nesting will be similar to CAM.

@Anonymous Great catch! I've added a reminder and put the event on my calendar, excited to attend this one as it will have a great impact on my manufacturing process! Thank you for posting it here.

Jan 2nd came and went with no live stream and the date on that video hasn't been updated since. Anyone know what the status is?

Any word on this?

Autodesk, any response? Another release has now come and gone and Nesting seems to not even be apologised for, let alone present. This is really key stuff and breaking workflows all over the shop, quite literally.

I feel, at this point, this is a more than fair comment.
