Array: spacing between objects option

Array: spacing between objects option

current array does allow you to divide the distance and position objects there.

what is really missing is being able to array parts with a distance between the objects I can adjust!

as an example I will use Blender here: You can array objects next to each other

Screen Shot 2016-09-10 at 4.57.27 PM.png

or define the space between them according to the % of the object width

in addition specifically for Fusion using a distance based on a unite value like 1cm or Dimension of an object would be ideal!!!

YES PLEASE

What amazes me about this is. Back in 1985 we had this ability in macPaint and macDraw. I don't understand why this is not a standard in all graphics programs.

@Solar-emc Well every CAD app has different philosophies and follows a workflow the users seem to use. Rhino today still shows its origin as a plug-in for AutoCAD.

Hi @cekuhnen

We have the ability to control the spacing value between each object in the pattern. Are you asking for the % to be added as an option?

Yes that would be fantastic. The current array tools in Fusion are fantastic with what it can do - specifically even leaving out steps.

But I found myself often wishing for using percentage to use as well.

The modifier in Blender uses the actual with of the object and when you say 1 then it places object next to object.

In Fusion you could do that as well but you would need to measure the object with first.

I am not sure how easy this would be for Fusion to implement because Blender just draws a bounding box around the mesh

and samples x y z from it.
