Active Component Visibility Switch Toggle

Perhaps this has already been suggested.  It would be helpful if there was a fast way to toggle the Active Component Visibility switch in preferences without having to enter preferences, for instance a button or key combination.  It's a pain to have to enter preferences to do this.

I cannot *find* the setting at all, now.
Has it been removed in a recent update?

The setting is still there, it's under General > Design > Active component visibility. I just found another idea on IdeaStation that basically is the same as yours, but it has more votes than yours here, so you should consider voting on it if you are still interested: Body opacity override Active component visibility.

 

And here is the mock-up I posted there, just to get you interested. The light bulb turns red when right-clicked, to override the global setting:
