If the file was never saved, I doubt there is any way to retrieve it.

Maybe somebody else has a better answer about the offline cache or the log files but I have a feeling you will need to recreate whatever was lost from scratch.

Fusion 360 has a good backup service... Whenever I also forget to save a file, or lets say Fusion becomes too lagy when I am working on a big project, it will close unexpectedly. And I could not even save my file. But as Fusion works on Cloud Services, and if I am working with my Internet connected, The file gets saved automatically in some intervals... And As soon as I turn on Fusion again, it tells me this file has been auto Saved at say 11:45 PM, would you like to open it...?

So this way, I can get my work back...

Were you connected to Internet when you kept your PC in Sleep mode...??

Thanks and Regards,

Rushabh Thakkar.

Okay than, if you are not able to see the window I shared above directly when you open Fusion, You can also Navigate here to see if it was saved Automatically...

If you cannot see it, than there is nothing you can do to view them. (According to my Experience)...

But you can turn on the Auto-Save Option for future...

To enable the auto-save function in 2020 Fusion, please follow these steps.

1. Within 2020 Fusion, access the File > Options.
2. Navigate to the Save tab.

rtaImage.jfif

3. To enable auto-save, check the box next to "Auto Save."
4. To define how often the plan will auto save, insert a numerical value in the "Minutes before change" box.

rtaImage (1).jfif

5. Click on OK to apply these changes.
6. Close and reopen 2020 Fusion to have these changes take effect.

Thanks and Regards,

In the Screencast I demonstrate the use of the File - Recovery function that you can use to recover a file "if" it has been open at least for the set recovery time.  I show in the video how to set the recovery time also.  I must point out, I did not modify my unsaved file during the recovery time period so it was exactly the same after recovery.  This may not be the case depending on your edit timing but at least you can recover most of the file in the event of a Fusion 360 unexpectedly closing.

Edit: the Screencast stops when Fusion 360 closes due to the fact it hooked to it.  What comes up when it reloads in the Recovery file window where you can open the recovery file or delete it.

I too shred those above, But @arcigigi08 is not able to see any files there...

As far as I know, there is no option to bring back the Files if there is nothing in Recovered Documents..

@jhackney1972 , Do you know any other way to recover the files other tan this...? I only know this...? Maybe I too can learn a New thing.. 😉

Thanks and Regards,

Rushabh Thakkar.

If you cannot see any Recovery Files, I don't think there is a way they can be brought back.

But you can turn the recovery files option On for Future, so that similar thing does not happen than...
