Layout Grid Always Disabled On Every Startup Of Fusion 360

Hi,

I am not very sure if this is a bug or what that the layout grid is always disabled by default on every startup of fusion 360 and this little thing can annoy me as well. I get this behavior years ago but not for long, however now it is persistent.

Turning on layout grid > closing f360 > opening f360 would results the layout grid being still disabled/turned off regardless.

I am looking for a solution to have the layout grid always enabled by startup

@sarf2k4

For the Layout Grid to persist after every startup:

  1. Turn on the "Text Commands"

     2. Turn on the Layout Grid

     3. In the Text Command Bar, type "Options.Save"

     4. Close Fusion and restart

This should hopefully work.

I actually gone to the great length of doing a reinstalling f360 as I tried to repair it, then cancelled midway because I saw your replies in hoping that I don't have to redownload the whole thing, in the end f360 broke so full re-installation was in order.

Anyway, upon showing the text commands console/terminal, I got the following error

SCRIPT ERROR

name 'folder' is used prior to global declaration (C:/Users/User/AppData/Roaming/Autodesk/ApplicationPlugins/VisualStyles.bundle/Contents/VisualStyles.py, line 230)

and I typed the "Options.Save" command and tested whether the work around is working or not  several time. The grid now is now visible upon startup, but the "text commands" are now persistent that it will stay show up at the bottom there at every start up.

P.S: I hid the "text commands" from the screenshot that you posted above, and it is still persistent of keep showing up... several times in fact

I guess that the error is related to this third party add-in: Visual Styles

Do you use the latest version of this add-in? If you do and the issue still occurs, you can ask for help in this specific thread: My first add-in: Visual Styles

I forgot I had Visual Styles plugin installed for so long. I resolved the error by re-installing a the new version, no more errors popping up
