im using a CT image of my head (stl file). i want to just create a mesh representing the skin, is this possible? i cannot seem to work with just the outer mesh, everything else is include with the file. my goal is create a mask that will fit to my face. please help
You can insert STL files as mesh data into Fusion 360 and then proceed to build T-Spline geometry around it.
In the model environment, click on Create Form.
Then go to Insert and select Insert Mesh
Browse to the STL you want to insert and click OK. Once it comes in, you can position it and start modeling.
There are a couple of ways to model geometry around a mesh body in Fusion 360. I think the best way for you to achieve what you want is to use the Create > Face command.
Once you've activated it, make sure you check the Object Snapoption in the command dialog box. This will allow you to create faces right on top of the mesh body. You can also give it a offset distance if you don't want the face directly touching the mesh body.
let me know if this helps.
thank you. the problem im having is that i cannot create a "face" here is what im seeing
Here's what i mean by create face on the body.
also watching your video, as soon as i complete the face (watertight) it disappears, im not able to see or edit it again, i can only see it when i hide the mesh body
It may help to modify the appearance of the mesh body so that it is transparent. Right click on the body in the browser and choose appearance to get started.
This PDF File (list of screencast videos included) may help.

Fusion Design:
Take note of the pull command in the section titled "Utilize Mesh Models to improve designs in Fusion 360."
I hope that helps.
