Running Energy Analysis in FormIt 360 Pro either spins forever ro displays a popup bubble (Server Error) with no additional details. It's a just straigtforward box. Am I missing something?

I had started a trial. Thank you. Knowing the trial is not fully functional will be important to communicate. Not sure why it wouldn't be, if you want to encourage more sales.

Hi-

Can you tell me what type of account you have? Is it a trial subscription or did you purchase PRO? Currently, the trial subscription does not let users anaylze their model. Only purchased Pro accounts are currently able to analyze their models. We are working on a fix to let users know of this situation.

If you have purchased pro, can you please check manage.autodesk.com and tell me if you have a Green Building Studio Subscription and a FormIt 360 Pro subscription? If so, please send me the logs from your javascript console. You can PM me this info.

Thanks,

Racel

Sorry about the confusion. This is a bug we discovered recently, and we are working on resolving this issue so that trial users will be able to test out the full-capability of the Energy Analysis features.

@sburke - We have resolved this bug for all trial users. You should now be able to use your trial subscription to analyze your FormIt model. Please try again and let us know if you get it working.

Thanks again and we apologize for any inconvenience,

Racel

I am having the exact same problem as OP, currently on Formit Pro trial but unable to get any energy analysis done thus far.

On the browser, it spins for a sec and stops with no mention of anything.

On an ipad, it gives a message "internal server error, please try again later"

I would really appreciate it if someone could clarify the situation?

Regards,

Erfan

Thanks for posting your issue on the Forums, Erfan! We have raised this issue with the Insight 360 team - and they have provided a temporary fix! So can you try again and see if the energy analysis works now? Thanks again for raising the issue - we appreciate the notification.

Thanks,

Tobias

Thanks for the prompt response Tobias.

I have tried it again on both the browser (safari, mac) and Ipad, unfortunately no luck so far. Attached are screenshots for ipad & safari.

Just to make a note, the solar analysis works perfectly fine.

Am I doing something wrong?

Erfan

I don't think you're doing anything wrong Erfan! Solar Analysis is all server independent - so it works very quickly and reliably.

The energy analysis service is relying on servers and it appears there was a big queue this morning / afternoon. We've since rebooted the servers, upped our limits, and you should see better response time now - can you try again?

Thank you for the back and forth communication!

Thanks Tobias, unfortunately I have had no success so far.

I ran the energy analysis again and left it for couple of hours and it still stayed on "Analysis in Progress: Creating Project" the whole time, exactly the same as the screenshot previously posted. Bearing in mind that the circular icon for energy analysis only spins for a split second when clicked on and goes back to the unselected form.

Regards,

Erfan

Hi Erfan - just checking in - were you able to get energy analysis to run this week? I have been successful this week so I think any server side issues have been resolved. If you're still not getting any luck then let's try sharing the file over to me and I can try it out on my side. There might be other geometry related issues (turn on Display Watertight Issues - DW keyboard shortcut) if lines turn purple then you've got some bad geometry that needs to be resolved.

Direct message me if you're still having problems and send me your email address, I can invite you to a secure box folder!

Hi Tobias

Thanks for checking in, I have tried what you mentioned regarding DW and did not notice any changes. The energy analysis still does not work unfortunately. I am unable to send you a direct message as I do not have sufficient privileges due to lack of posts.

Erfan

 Hi,

I am trying out the energy analysis on formit from revit. and I am having the same issues mentioned by the others, in the sense of that it says it converting the geometry and running the analysis for a while and after 20mins of waiting get an internal sever error. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Models which I draw on formit are easily giving me the analysis.

Hi Aldrin,

Have you tried this again? I just tested the service and it worked as expected. The internal server error could have been temporary.

Let us know if the problem persists. If so, we'd like to take a look at the file you're running and see if we can reproduce the problem.

I'm having difficulty receiving a generated energy analysis for a model. I have an account with Green Building studio and have restarted the software, as well as my computer, to run multiple test with no success.

Any help would be great.

Thank you

Sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the Energy Analysis feature.

Looking at your attachment I have the following suggestions:

  • Use the Diagnostics Visual Styles to ensure your model is Watertight.  Geometry that is not watertight will always fail analysis.
  • Put the excess geometry on a layer and hide it before submitting the model for Energy Analysis.  We have seen this to help the analysis run faster and you may be hitting a timeout.

If these suggestions do not resolve your issue feel free to attach your model and we will take a closer look.

Thanks,

-Heather
