Is it possible that in addition to the 'live feedback' of the wind speed in the graph below the wind rose (which are also displayed in the main window), a 'live feedback' of the selected percentages can also be displayed?

Our national standard requires a check on the probability of exceedance in percentages of wind speeds higher than 15ms for 0.05% - 0.3% (limited risk) and more than 0.3% (dangerous wind speeds).

Currently, specific speeds can be requested using the graph below the wind chart, but in order to select a specific percentage, this must be done on a gamble. For example, it may happen that the values of 0.27% are displayed on a first delivery and the values of 0.39% are displayed on a subsequent delivery, where we would like to be able to display wind speeds at exactly 0.3%.

Since the wind speeds can already be inspected in the main window, in our opinion the 'live feedback' of the wind speed could be replaced with a live feedback of the selected percentage. Or show both as live feedback when possible?

Hi Antonio,

The wind analysis is primarily designed for pedestrian comfort, not for hazardous wind conditions. I do not believe that the current wind simulation accounts for these extreme wind speeds, nor is the wind speed probability sensitive enough for such high speeds (we use wind speed probabilities from Global Wind Atlas). We might add proper support for hazardous wind in the future.

Showing the probability of the wind speed exceeding the selected speed in the graph might be useful, but I do not believe it will help with your use case. I assume your use case must account for wind coming from any direction, while your proposal would apply to one direction at a time. Each curve in the graph shows the probability of the wind moving in a direction AND the wind speed matching a given speed, so looking for 0.3% in that graph will not provide the results you want. There will also be variations in the wind speed on the site based on the way the wind flows around terrain and buildings it which will affect the probability distribution at different points on the site.

Should we add support for hazardous wind analysis, I believe your use case might best fit as a customized version of the wind comfort analysis to categorize the area into the different probability levels based on your national standard. The comfort analysis is already designed for this kind of categorization and account for all directions at once, just not for extreme wind conditions.

Yes, we know that the analysis mainly concerns pedestrian comfort in the early design phase.

I've discussed this before with some of your colleagues and there seemed to be interest in including this in a future release if possible.

So far we have been able to use forma very well to determine whether a more detailed wind hazard analysis (by an external agency) is advisable. So far we have not detected any peaks approaching the dangerous wind speeds of 15 ms.

When requesting a 'live feed' of the percentages, the wind direction does not matter, the selection can be used for all 8 wind directions, depending on what is needed. Because the most common wind direction in our country comes from the southwest, we usually look at that a little more carefully.

It would be nice to display the (missing) percentages, same as the wind speeds in the graph are the shown (which are also shown in the main window).
So instead of showing the wind speed twice, it would be welcome to at least show the percentages at the cursor when using the graph.
