Revit export to forma

Hello, i am currently facing an issue while updating proposal from revit into forma.  i can t see my volumes in forma after sending them back from revit.

It was a workflow that worked perfectly six mounths ago but since last three mounths it seems that it doesn t work properly anymore.

I have to export as an object and then importing it into forma which is not very practical cause i lose all my alignement with this workaround.

Can anybody help me with this issue it will be very appreciated thanks

That sounds like either a user error or a bug. Let's see if we can't figure this out together!

Could you to begin with share a little more information of what you're attempting to send back to Forma from Revit? For now the files in Revit needs to be BIND to the Revit+Forma connected project, it cannot be linked. Could that be the issue?

Could you perhaps share a screenshot of your Revit project in a 3d view, I'll probably have to ask you a few follow-up questions to get to the bottom of this. But let's hang in there together

Indeed, i have binded the revit link into a seperate revit file, after importing the site from forma, once i am updating the proposal from revit to forma the massing volumes do not appear.

i have tried also to copy the massing volumes into the revit site file after binding it. and i have the same result.

As i have metionned, i have already worked with this workflow before and i had at the time correct export. I’m not sure if this issue is related to the Revit add-in; it may have been updated since then.

I wonder if you have been using v. 0.9.17 which we unfortunately had to pull. We have just rectified that today launching 0.9.18 - could you please try downloading this from the app store available in the extension panel inside Forma and verify if the problem persist? Sorry for trouble, we will find a solution 🤞

I have just reinstalled the new add-in and the same issue occurs.

When i m linking the revit file with origine to origine set, my mass volumes are on the right place, after updating proposal from revit to forma nothing happens except this error message as you can see on the attached screenshot, i have a feeling that it s related to my mass volumes, cause i didn t get the message while duplicating the site.

Sorry to hear. Would like to debug this a bit since we have no signals that anything should have changed.

To do this I'd like the project and proposal id (the url in your browser for the proposal you shared images of) and ideally a link to download the RVT in order to try the workflow. Could you send this through the in-app support or in a DM on the forum?

Thanks for sharing. With only massing shared, we got it to work, but one of the engineers on my team will reach out in a DM for some deeper info to figure out whats up 🙂
